HC “Be a Leader” by O J McGriff (pilot project)

In the Spring of 2014 I asked  Joe Troncale, District Chief, to create a  leadership advisor for our chapter. I asked to the this advisor.  I, somehow, had a feeling that this role was needed.  I told Joe, we need to train each member in leadership from a start of their membership in our chapter.  I over for several years had given a couple of talks the our new members and wanted this to be the basis of a new program. Also,  I wanted to demonstrate to  the General Fraternity this program in hope they could find a more professional person to do a individual leadership program for new members.

In the winter of 2014 our chapter was assigned a re-organization counselor, Tylere Presley.  I reviewed this project with him, the executive board of the chapter, and Ron Hughston, chapter counselor. The original project was for eight weeks; we cut it to 5 weeks by the combining three sessions into one Session #4. we decided to do a pilot with the new member class in 2015. Tylere Presley would film and produce a video of the sessions. He would show this program to the General Fraternity. Below is the program we decided on to give our 2015 pledge class.
