Leadership Development

The Beta Theta Pi Leadership Development department is dedicated to:

designing and implementing high quality educational programming that promotes consistent practice of the principles, obligations and values of Beta Theta Pi among collegiate members
developing leaders of integrity who enable positive action, accountability and personal development among members of their chapters, Greek communities and the General Fraternity

To achive this mission, Beta Theta Pi provides numerous leadership opportunities for its undergraduates to meet and learn from fellow Betas throughout North America:

The Presidents Academy: This academy brings all chapter and colony presidents to Oxford for three days of intense discussion and leadership training.

Keystone Regional Leadership Conferences: A high quality, regional education experience focusing on chapter officer development, principled leadership and volunteer training. Although Beta has other popular values-based leadership opportunities, this is the first that will teach operational concepts to chapter officers and advisors.

The Wooden Institute: An intense five-day educational experience, introduced in 1999, designed to lead groups of 70 undergraduate Betas — identified as prospective leaders — through a program of fraternal values, leading with integrity, enhancing chapter motivation, team-building, effective confrontation and service learning.

The Beta Wilderness Challenge: In her pioneering spirit, Beta Theta Pi offers a 100 percent outdoor, high adventure experience open to undergraduates. This outdoor leadership experience, a six-day backpacking journey into the Utah mountains, takes participants through a bold agenda focusing on Beta Ritual and a series of challenging outdoor elements.

Leadership College: This experience provides leadership training and education for up-and-coming leaders of Beta chapters and colonies during the Fraternity's General Convention.

Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI): This North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) program is a principle-centered institute, designed to create momentum toward positive change for campus and Greek communities.

Futures Quest: This program focuses on leadership and personal development for the fraternal experience and beyond.
